Ms Nagammai, I am very sorry this happened. Losing ₹3.42 lakh saved through years of hard work is devastating. Because you reported the fraud at about 5:00 p.m.—roughly 95 minutes after the transactions—please preserve proof of that report carefully. Do not publish your account number, transaction IDs, complaint number, phone number or identity documents here. Please take these steps in parallel: 1. Escalate to your bank in writing Send a complaint to the Branch Manager and the bank’s Principal Nodal Officer with the subject: “Unauthorised electronic transactions dated 3 May 2026 — request for recall, provisional credit and decision under RBI/2017-18/15.” Attach the bank statement, each transaction/UTR number, debit messages, cybercrime acknowledgement and proof showing when the bank was first informed. Ask the bank to confirm: The recorded date and time of your original fraud report. Whether recall, beneficiary-account freeze or lien requests were sent. The amount traced, placed on hold or recovered. Its written decision under the RBI customer-liability framework. The evidence on which it alleges customer negligence, if that is its position. Under the RBI customer-protection circular, zero liability can apply where a third-party breach is reported to the bank within three working days. Where zero or limited liability applies, the circular provides for shadow credit within 10 working days and determination of liability within 90 days. Importantly, the burden of proving customer liability lies on the bank. The three-working-day period concerns reporting to the bank, not merely to the police. If you informed the bank on the same day, preserve that proof. If you did not, submit the written bank complaint immediately even now. If the bank rejected your complaint, gave an unsatisfactory reply, or has not replied within 30 days, file a free complaint through the RBI Complaint Management System. Upload the bank complaint
