I am a resident of Madhya Pradesh and have been working under MGNREGA for the past year. I want to conduct a social audit of the works done under MGNREGA in my village. What are the procedures for conducting a social audit? Can I file an RTI to get the necessary information?

3 repliesYou can file an RTI under §6(1) of the RTI Act to get the necessary information for conducting a social audit. You can also approach the District Programme Coordinator for assistance.
As per §10 of the RTI Act, you can seek information in the form of a social audit. You can approach the Block Development Officer for assistance.
According to the MGNREGA guidelines, social audits are to be conducted by the Gram Sabhas. You can approach the Gram Sabha for conducting a social audit. This is the best course of action.
