Can I get information about commercial confidence under RTI?
I want to get the information about a company that has been awarded a government contract. The company claims that the information is commercial confidence and cannot be disclosed. Can I file an RTI application to get this information? Will the PIO deny it citing section 8(1)(d) of the RTI Act?

You can file an RTI application, but the PIO will likely deny it citing section 8(1)(d).
The commercial confidence is not exempt under section 8(1)(d) if it's already publicly available. You can try to get the information if it's already publicly available.
You should file the application under the right category, commercial confidence is not accessible under RTI.
