MGNREGA wage delay — 5 months, no payment
Workers in our village did MGNREGA work in Dec-Jan. Wages still not credited. Some got partial, most got nothing. Where do we file RTI?

3 repliesCritical issue — MGNREGA wage delay beyond 15 days from work completion is a violation of §3(3) and triggers compensation u/s 7(3).
File RTI to Programme Officer (PO), Block Panchayat + Project Director, DRDA:
1. Muster roll details for work no. X for the period DD/MM/YYYY 2. Date of muster roll closure + date of FTO (Fund Transfer Order) generation 3. Status of payment for each worker in muster roll 4. Reason for delay + compensation payable u/s 7(3) (₹0.05% of unpaid wages per day) 5. Aadhaar-NACH-PFMS mapping status for the affected workers
The '7(3) compensation' question is the dynamite — workers are entitled to delay compensation automatically, and the system rarely pays it. Asking forces calculation.
In parallel — file complaint on https://nrega.nic.in/ grievance portal AND request Social Audit.

Chapter 11 of The RTI Playbook has 3 documented MGNREGA cases where compensation was recovered.
If you can rally even 8-10 workers to sign a joint RTI + grievance, weight goes up significantly. Group cases get processed faster because they affect block-level statistics.
Add — also ask for the bank/post office where each worker's account was opened, and the last transaction status. Sometimes the wage was credited but to a wrong/dormant account.
