I am a resident of Tamil Nadu and have been working under MGNREGA for the past year. However, I want to inspect the work site to ensure that the work is being done correctly. What can I do to inspect the work site? Can I file an RTI to know the procedure for work site inspection?

3 answersAccording to the MGNREGA guidelines, work site inspections are to be done by the Gram Panchayat. You can approach the Gram Panchayat for inspecting the work site. This is the best course of action.
As per §8(1)(j) of the RTI Act, personal information cannot be disclosed. You cannot file an RTI to know the procedure for work site inspection.
You can file an RTI under §6(1) of the RTI Act to know the procedure for work site inspection. You can also approach the District Programme Coordinator for assistance.
