Muster Roll Dispute
I am a resident of Andhra Pradesh and have been working under MGNREGA for the past year. However, my name is missing from the muster roll. I have approached the Gram Panchayat, but they are not taking any action. What can I do to get my name included in the muster roll? Can I file an RTI to know the criteria for inclusion in the muster roll?

3 answersAccording to the MGNREGA guidelines, the muster roll is to be prepared based on the work performed. You can file a complaint with the State Employment Guarantee Council to get your name included in the muster roll. This is the best course of action.
As per §8(1)(j) of the RTI Act, personal information cannot be disclosed. You cannot file an RTI to know the criteria for inclusion in the muster roll.
You can file an RTI under §6(1) of the RTI Act to know the criteria for inclusion in the muster roll. You can also approach the District Collector for assistance.
