I filed an RTI application with a ₹5 fee, but the PIO refused it saying that the fee is incomplete. Can the PIO refuse my application? What can I do now?

3 answersAs per §7(1) of the RTI Act 2005, the PIO can refuse your application if the fee is incomplete. You should pay the complete fee of ₹10 and re-submit your application.
You should have paid the complete fee in the first place. Now, you can pay the remaining ₹5 and re-submit your application.
The PIO cannot refuse your application. You can file a first appeal under §19(1) of the RTI Act 2005 against the PIO's decision.
