Voter list — name removed without notice
Discovered my name is missing from voter list while trying to check before next election. Filed Form 8 in February, no action. Can I RTI the ERO?
Know the practical answer?

3 answersYes — and this is time-sensitive given the rolling revision schedule.
File RTI to Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of your assembly constituency:
1. Status of Form 8 dated DD/MM/YYYY filed by [name] EPIC no. X 2. Date and reason for deletion of name from voter list, if any 3. Copy of notice issued u/s 22 of Representation of the People Act before deletion (deletion without notice is illegal) 4. Name + designation of BLO / officer who recommended deletion 5. Process to restore name to current rolls
Important — under §22 of RP Act 1950, deletion requires prior notice. If no notice was issued, the deletion itself is bad in law.

Chapter 14 of The RTI Playbook covers electoral RTIs including the Karnataka 2018 bulk-deletion case which set the precedent.
Parallel — file fresh Form 6 online at nvsp.in immediately, don't wait for RTI resolution. The two run independently; whichever finishes first restores your name.
Important — in 2023 there was a verified pattern in Karnataka of 6.6 lakh names deleted without notice. The Karnataka HC pulled up the CEO. Worth referencing that judgment if your state shows a similar pattern.
