3 answersVery common situation — second/third installment delays are systemic. File RTI to Block Development Officer (BDO) + Project Director, DRDA of your district. Ask:
1. Stage of construction recorded in AwaasSoft for sanction no. X 2. Date geo-tagged photo of last stage was uploaded 3. Reason for non-release of 2nd installment 4. Name + designation of officer responsible for verification 5. Number of similar sanctions in your block where 2nd installment is pending beyond 6 months
Crucial: PMAY-G installments are linked to geo-tagged photos in AwaasSoft. Often the photo is uploaded by the local supervisor but not verified by the BDO — that's the bottleneck. Question #2 + #4 surfaces this.

Chapter 11 of The RTI Playbook has a Tamil Nadu PMAY-G case study with the exact RTI text used.
Adding for Kerala/TN context — there's a Social Audit mechanism under PMAY-G. File a Social Audit request alongside RTI; the Gram Sabha review surfaces stuck cases faster than admin route alone.
Also include the District Collector in CC. PMAY-G is monitored at Collector level, and once it lands on their dashboard, BDOs act within days.
