What is Aadhaar–bank seeding for DBT and why does it matter?

DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) pays scholarship money straight to your bank account linked to your Aadhaar. 'Seeding' means your bank has mapped your Aadhaar to your account for receiving DBT.

If it isn't seeded, the money has nowhere to land. Ask your bank to seed your Aadhaar for DBT, or check the status via NPCI.
