Why is my mutation taking so long?

The most common reasons are:

• Pending verification by the Patwari or field staff.
• An objection raised by a co-owner or neighbour.
• Missing documents (sale deed, succession certificate, death certificate, no-dues).
• Plain staff delay or a backlog at the Tehsil office.

Filing an RTI for the file status and reason often reveals which of these is blocking your case.
